Author to sign at Book World BOOK SHORT
BAXTER - Rhinelander, Wis., author Barb Schmeling will sign copies of her novel, "Darkest Places" (written under the name Lea Varner), from 10 a.m.-noon Oct. 20 at Book World in the Westgate Mall.
"Darkest Places" is the first novel by Schmeling, who was born in Brainerd. It is a mystery/romance about a young woman who is determined to find the killer of her parents 16 years earlier.
