Snow fell Monday in Brainerd, but unlike in the Twin Cities, it failed to stick around for long.
Areas around Minneapolis and St. Paul reported more than 4 inches of snow Monday morning, the National Weather Service in Duluth reported.

Locally, the weather service listed reports of 2 inches of snow in Hackensack, 1.5 inches in Pequot Lakes, 1.4 inches near Gull Lake and an inch of snow near Nisswa and in Leader.
There's a 30 percent chance of precipitation Wednesday through Friday, with snow possible in the mornings followed by light rain or snow in the afternoons.
It could warm up for the weekend, with a high temp of 50 degrees forecast for Saturday and a high temp of 57 degrees forecast for Sunday.
