Central Lakes College and the city of Crosslake have entered into an agreement to provide opportunities for CLC students, faculty and staff to work collaboratively with personnel from the city of Crosslake.
The memorandum of understanding, signed by CLC President Larry Lundblad and Crosslake Mayor Jay Andolshek Oct. 12 at the Crosslake City Council meeting, also states the two parties will collaborate to seek funding and "provide educational and service opportunities that will be mutually beneficial."
Examples of activities that could also benefit the residents of the Crosslake area, according to the MOU, are as follows:
• Joint, short- and long-term planning to determine the needs of the Crosslake community.
• Integration of service learning projects in the Crosslake area into college curriculum.
• Central lakes College faculty and staff serving as guest speakers as requested.
• Development and delivery of educationl offerings designed to serve Crosslake residents.
• Utilization of technology to help connect the Crosslake community with Central Lakes College.
Rebecca Best, CLC dean of workforce, economic and regional development, was present for the signing in her capacity as supervisor of service learning. She also oversees management programs, the Central Lakes Ag Center, customized training, and Business and Industry Center at CLC.
