Louise P. Smith
Louise P. Smith, Brainerd, 93, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 15, 2009, at her home in Brainerd. Predeceased by her husband of 52 years, Ward E. in 1987; her parents; and her two brothers, John and George Putzker.
Louise was born on a homestead in Paradise Valley, Mont., the valley along the Yellowstone River north of Yellowstone Park. She moved from Montana, with her husband, Ward and her two daughters, to Brainerd in 1955. She was a member of First Congregational Church, Eastern Star and was active in the Brainerd community for many years.
She is survived by her daughters, Adena Cook (Jeffrey), Idaho Falls, Idaho; and Nikki Langworthy (Harold), Rochester, N.Y.; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Also survived by her sisters, Mary Ashley and Helen Coscik, of Livingston, Mont.
Services will be held on Saturday, Oct. 24, 2009, at 10 a.m. at Woodland Good Samaritan Village Chapel in Brainerd with Pastor Deborah Celley officiating.
Arrangements are with the Halvorson-Johnson Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Brainerd.
