Shirley A. Olson
OUTING - Shirley Ann Olson, age 78, of Outing, died on Oct. 18, 2009, at St. Joseph's Medical Center in Brainerd. She was born on July 4, 1931, in Duluth to Rudolph and Selma (Gelin) Benson.
She grew up in Duluth and married Bob Olson on July 15, 1951, in Mason City, Iowa. Together they traveled and lived in many countries. She was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Outing, the Joy Club, Outing, The Bridge Club, Outing, and Ladies Club, Emily/Outing.
She is survived by a daughter, Sally (Rick) Watson, of Walker; and a sister, Nancy Yost; many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband in 1993, and brother-in-law, Tom Yost.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. on Thursday at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Outing. Friends may call one hour prior to the services at the church on Thursday. Arrangements are with the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby.
