Delta Air Lines announced Thursday it is pulling out of the St. Cloud Regional Airport.
The news caused a ripple-effect of concern throughout regional airports in Minnesota.
Brainerd Lakes Regional Airport Manager Steve Sievek said he knows of no plans to change or close service at the Brainerd airport.
He said it was his understanding that Delta officials walked into the St. Cloud airport about noon today and announced the plan.
"They had no inkling," Sievek said. "Obviously, I'm extremely hopeful that it doesn't happen in Brainerd. It's kind of scary."
As of Dec. 31, Mesaba Airlines, which is part of Delta, will no longer schedule flights between St. Cloud and Minneapolis. Delta says it's reducing select flights that are unprofitable, because of declining demand.
