Education: Just earned a criminal justice certificate from Central Lakes College. "I am pursuing a career in law enforcement."
Family: I'm engaged and I will have three step-children, ages 5, 10 and 11.
What specific qualities or experiences will make you a good choice for school board? "I have a long history of volunteering with our community and more recently with our schools. I have a business background and education. Although it is not extensive, it allows me the knowledge base to ask and understand the questions we currently face and offer a fresh perspective. My criminal justice education has shed new light on the importance of a child's education and the value of preparing our children to meet the challenges they will face."
The school district is considering options to address possible growth in the elementary school population. What options do you support? Should increasing class size be on the table? "I am pleased with how concerned the faculty and administration are with keeping class sizes as small as possible. The class sizes directly affect the quality of our children's education and I am opposed to the idea of cramming more children into already tight resources. There are several options being discussed right now, one of the most talked about is reopening one of the closed elementary schools. If this can be done in a financially sound and sustainable way, that would be one of my first choices."
