Paul Bunyan may be the biggest, burliest logger to ever swing an ax, but his wardrobe story is never told more brilliantly or hilariously than by non-burly storyteller, Mary Schmidt.
Using work clothes of the day and a litany of work clothes through the ages, Mary dons Paul Bunyan-style garb as she shares the funny, silly and amazing aspects of work clothes.
The presentation will be a part of the Paul Bunyan Scenic Byway Association's annual dinner meeting from 5:15-8:45 p.m. Nov. 9 at Breezy Point Resort's Marina II.
Mary Schmidt has performed for several years around the area, tailoring her vast knowledge of the clothing of our lives to perfectly fit the group for whom she's presenting. Recently, she brought the Paul Bunyan work clothes story to Black Pine Beach Resort for the fourth year in a series hosted by the resort called Dressing Paul Bunyan. Snippets from that popular series will be included in the Paul Bunyan Scenic Byway Association's dinner performance.
Also included in the Byway Association's evening agenda, and also guided by Schmidt as well, is the popular table tales, a feature that brings the tall tale aficionado out in everyone.
