Theresa M. Allen
CROSBY - Theresa Marie (Scarpellini) Allen, age 95, of Crosby, formerly of Garrison, died on Oct. 25, 2009, at Heartwood in Crosby. She was born on Jan. 8, 1914, in Crosby to Ceasar and Assunta Scarpellini. Theresa grew up in Crosby. She married Clare W. Allen on Sept. 9, 1930, in Crosby. Together with her husband they owned and operated Allen's Resort on Borden Lake near Garrison. She was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Garrison.
She is survived by two daughters, Ginger (Tony) Mudford, of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Marion (Jim) Brieger, of Gypsum, Colo.; eight grandchildren, Doug Jachowski, of Virginia, Mike Jachowski, of Arizona, Phil Jachowski, of California, Lorna Horn, of Texas, Mary Kay Steele, of Japan, Colleen Vinsonhaler, of New Mexico; and 19 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clare; two brothers, Paul and Ceasar Scarpellini; and one sister, Angeline Scarpellini.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 31, 2009, at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Garrison. Burial will be at the Garrison Community Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to the services at the church on Friday. Arrangements are with the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby.
