The Brainerd Dispatch invites trick-or-treating ghosts, goblins, princesses and superheroes to come in from 3-5 p.m. Friday. There will be an opportunity for children to get their pictures taken for the online Spotted gallery.
Trunk and Treat
BAXTER - Prince of Peace is hosting a Trunk and Treat starting at 6:30 p.m. Friday in the church parking lot. This is a safe, fun Halloween event where children can trick-or-treat out of the trunks of church members' vehicles.
Trixie's Halloween Extravaganza
NISSWA - Trixie's Halloween Extravaganza will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday at Christ Community Church in Nisswa. Those attending are encouraged to wear a costume.
There will be games and candy for the kids. Hot dogs, floats and popcorn will be available for a freewill offering.

Great pumpkin party Friday
Trinity Lutheran Church, 1420 S. Sixth St., Brainerd, will have the Great Pumpkin Party from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Friday.
Events are planned for children through fifth grade. They include a cake walk, cookie decorating, games, Boney Boulevard where children collect treats and the Scary Story Room. Food and snacks will be served beginning at 5:30 p.m.
Those attending are encouraged to bring a food or cash contribution for the local food shelf.

Police department to host Halloween safety event
The Brainerd police and fire departments and several other organizations are hosting a Halloween safety event from 3:30-6:30 p.m. Friday at the police department at 225 East River Road.
The first 800 children will receive a glow-in-the-dark necklace or bracelet, a trick-or-treat bag and candy.
The event is sponsored by the police and fire departments, Lakes Area Law Enforcement Association, National Child Safety Council and the Brainerd Police Department Patrolman Association.
Halloween party at Westgate planned
Westgate Mall and Brainerd Community Action will host a Halloween party from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Friday in the Holiday Village at Westgate Mall. There will be games, candy, cider and pictures in costume by Angel.
Woodland to hand out treats
Good Samaritan Society-Woodland will hand out treats to trick-or-treaters from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Friday in the entrance of the 100 building and the entrance of the 200 building.
