We live on North Eighth Street. On Halloween we had approximately 200 trick-or-treaters. What a great group of kids. At least 90 percent of them said thank you. It made it rewarding to give treats. Also, I did not see any vandalism. Thanks, kids, for being so well-behaved. We look forward to seeing you next year.
Snake oil, ATV trail, taxes
Why do the county commissioners insist on forcing an ATV trail on the residents of Crow Wing County? We have more important concerns rather than spending taxpayer monies on an ATV trail. When is the ATV trail traveling caravan going to quit trying to sell this snake oil on unsuspecting residents? Trail promoters tell the locals that only a few ATVs a day will go by. What's the trail for then? Where is the economic benefit? It's the residents along the trail who will have the pleasure of paying for a trail that will lower their property values.
Return to the true teachings
Finally, an ELCA pastor that has the courage to take a stance against our state and national leadership. I'd like to see this happen in Brainerd area churches too. We need to return to the true teachings of the Bible - and not bow to society.
