Ray Burnett was recently renamed president of the Brainerd Lakes Area Development Corporation for 1989. Harry Nysather was named first vice president and Tom Green was named second vice president.

An engineering consultant informed the Crow Wing County Board of Commissioners that the Brainerd Crow Wing County airport expansion project is the No. 1 airport priority of the state and Federal Aviation Administration.

40 years ago (1968)

Over 160 Brainerd Chamber of Commerce members and wives attended the annual dinner meeting and "Ladies Night" at the Brainerd Country Club last night.

60 years ago (1948)

More than 150 Girl Scouts, parents, leaders and board members attended the Juliette Low birthday party held in the Washington High School Wednesday evening. The parents attendance award was won by Brownie Scout Troop 33.
