LOCAL BRIEFS Benefit scheduled Saturday at Legion for Alison Collins
There will be a breast cancer benefit for Alison Collins from 4 p.m. to midnight. Saturday at the Brainerd American Legion, 708 Front St.
Collins, mother of two young boys, was diagnosed with Stage IV breast cancer at the age of 41. She recently had major back surgery to remove some of the cancer and to rebuild part of her spine.
A taco dinner will be served. Cost is $10 for adults; $5 for kids 12 and under.
There will be a silent auction, which ends at 9 p.m.; drawings; music; and more.

Benefit planned Saturday at Eagles Club for Johanna Morrigan
A benefit spaghetti dinner, music and silent auction for Johanna Morrigan will be 6-11 p.m. Saturday at the Eagles Club, 124 Front St. in Brainerd.
Morrigan is undergoing treatment for ovarian cancer.

Paul Bunyan Scenic Byway annual meeting slated Monday
The annual meeting and dinner of the Paul Bunyan Scenic Byway will be at 5:30 p.m. Monday at Antler's Restaurant in Breezy Point.
The keynote speaker will be Pam Perry with the Minnesota DNR Non-game Wildlife Program.
Cost is $35 for dinner and dessert.
