LITTLE FALLS - A 68-year-old Brainerd man died when the car he was driving crossed the center line and struck an oncoming pickup truck head-on, the State Patrol reported.
Adelfred Martens and his passenger, wife Kathleen, 65, were driving east on Highway 27 on wet road conditions. The crash was reported at 3:46 p.m. Friday about a half mile west of Little Falls. Adelfred Martens was dead at the scene. He was not wearing a seat belt. Kathleen Martens suffered non-life threatening injuries and was transported to St. Cloud Hospital with a broken arm and internal injuries, the State Patrol reported. She was wearing a seat belt.
The driver of the pickup truck, Loren Leno, 43, New Hope, suffered a minor injury with neck pain, the State Patrol reported. He was not taken to the hospital. Leno was wearing a seat belt.
