Crow Wing sheriff

CRASHES - No people were injured in a car/deer collision at 8:44 p.m. Sunday on County Road 77. A possession permit was issued for the deer.

A man was reported injured when he fell off a four-wheeler. The report came at 9:16 a.m. Sunday on the 1800 block of County Road 2 in Fort Ripley Township.

No people were reported injured in a car/deer collision at 6:15 a.m. Sunday at Pine Beach Road and Patterson Road. A possession tag was requested.

A possession tag was issued after a car/deer crash at 6:04 a.m. Sunday on County Highway 16 and Commons Circle in Ideal Township.

A possession tag was requested at 12:03 a.m. Saturday along Highway 6 in Crosby for an injured deer but the deer ran away with a broken leg when the deputy arrived.

Another car/deer crash was reported at 7:46 p.m. Friday at Business Highway 371 and St. Mathias Road.

INVESTIGATIONS - After Curtis Nebben reported his son had not come out of the woods after hunting in the River Road and Austin Lane area of Wolford Township, emergency personnel from the Crosby Fire Department and the DNR assisted and the Crosby ambulance was paged to be on stand-by. The missing hunter returned to the scene in a vehicle stating he had locked the keys in the truck at the scene and walked home to get another key.

Arrested a 21-year-old after a report of a vehicle in a ditch at 10:29 p.m. Friday on Westward Ho Drive by Garrison. The subject was arrested for second-degree DUI and driving after license revocation.

Received a report Friday of a neighbor dispute in Brainerd where one neighbor was reportedly video taping another neighbor.

ASSIST - Assisted Brainerd for a possible disturbance at 2:10 a.m. Sunday on the 300 block of Second Avenue. It turned out not to be a disturbance, but was a female outside talking on a cell phone.

ASSAULTS - Received a report of an assault at 7:08 p.m. Saturday with an intoxicated suspect leaving for St. Cloud on a motorcycle with a female passenger. The subject was located.

Received a report of a sexual assault at 2:32 a.m. Saturday on the 6000 block of Big Bear Lane in Maple Grove Township. Arrested a 23-year-old man.

THEFTS - Herbert Gish, 9600 block of Sunrise Lane, Saturday reported a boat theft.

Vicki Shogren, 13000 block of Highway 6, Bay Lake Township, Friday reported a theft of a boat motor.

Brainerd police

BURGLARIES - The Habitat for Humanity ReStore was broken into Friday through a window and burglarized with the safe later found in the Mississippi River. No further information was available from the open investigation.

Brainerd Medical Supply, 200 block of West Washington Street, Sunday reported a burglary.

THEFT - A woman, on 28th Street Southeast, Saturday reported $1,500 was stolen from her purse.

PROPERTY DAMAGE - A bag of garbage and an egg were reported to be thrown down the stairs on the 1200 block of West Campus Drive.

A man Saturday reported his vehicle was egged on College Drive and Southwest Fourth Street.

Manor West reported a fire extinguisher was stolen and discharged on a vehicle in the parking lot Saturday on the 400 block of West College Drive. White powder, that turned out to be from a fire extinguisher, was also found inside a vehicle on the 500 block of West College Drive.

CRASHES - One woman was reported injured in a three-vehicle crash at 12:01 p.m. Friday on Southwest Fourth Street and West College Drive. Driver Mary Elizabeth Smith, 55, Brainerd, was taken to St. Joseph's Medical Center. The other two drivers - Danielle Hackler Thoemke, 26, Brainerd, and Felicia Austin, 19, Brainerd - were not reported injured.

No injuries were reported in a two-vehicle crash at 12:06 p.m. Friday on the 600 block of Oak Street.

ARRESTS - A 31-year-old man was arrested after a verbal domestic turned physical about 2:33 a.m. Sunday on the 1300 block of Pine Street.

Arrested a 19-year-old woman Friday on the 600 block of Norwood Street for motor vehicle theft, possession of stolen property and driving without a license.

INVESTIGATIONS - Received a report Saturday of a male with a black handgun on the 400 block of South Ninth Street. The male wasn't located, minor consumption at the scene was.

Received a report of a prowler Saturday on the 600 block of Fourth Avenue Northeast turned out to be the caller's brother and sister.

A suspicious male was reported standing at the corner of North Fourth and Washington streets Saturday reported he was waiting for his wife, who was returning from a trip to Ireland.

Received a report Saturday of a man kicking cans and talking to himself and trying to get in a van on the 200 block of North Seventh Street. The subject reported he was talking on a cell phone and tried to get into his own van, but forgot the keys.

A man was reported Saturday running into the traffic lanes on Laurel Street and punching the driver's side window on a vehicle. The man was arrested after a different incident. He stated he was trying to get arrested so he would have a warm place to sleep.

Staples police

INVESTIGATIONS - A driver was pulled over Monday on Airport Road in Staples because the license plate indicated the vehicle was stolen. The driver identified himself as the vehicle owner's brother and said the vehicle had been recovered shortly after it was stolen but not everyone had received that update. The vehicle was towed awaiting the owner to provide proof of current insurance and a valid driver's license.

An adult foster care client in Staples with a day walking pass returned intoxicated and punched a hole in the wall when confronted. He was taken to detox.

Found a horse walking around the city on the 400 block of Centennial Lane Northeast Monday. The horse was returned to its owner.

BURGLARY - Received a report Saturday that a rear garage door was kicked in on the 100 block of Ravilla Avenue Northeast.

PROPERTY DAMAGE - A Staples squad car had damage to the front passenger headlight after a turkey flew out from a ditch and was struck by the vehicle Thursday on Todd County Road 21.

No injuries were reported in a two-vehicle collision Tuesday on the 100 block of Second Avenue Northeast.

THEFT - SuperAmerica, 1100 block of Second Avenue Northeast, Monday reported a gas drive-off of $317.89 of diesel on Oct. 30.

DISORDERLY - A physical altercation was reported between juvenile females with one female reported pushed to the ground and possibly kicked Tuesday on the 400 block of Centennial Lane Northeast.
