Maryette 'Net' Geraets
BROWERVILLE - Maryette "Net" Geraets, 84, of Browerville, passed away on Friday, Nov. 6, 2009, in Brainerd. Mass of Christian Burial was held on Monday, Nov. 9, 2009, at noon at Christ the King Catholic Church in Browerville with Father Ralph Zimmerman officiating. Interment was held at Christ the King Catholic Cemetery in Browerville.





Maryette Geraets



Net was born on Jan. 8, 1925, in Dell Rapids, S.D., to Leo and Ida Hansen. On Nov. 5, 1946, she married Charles Geraets. Chuck and Net moved to Minnesota in 1954 where they farmed north of Browerville until 1981. Net was a champion baker and seamstress. She enjoyed playing cards and cooking. Net was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church in Browerville, Christian Mothers, St. Ann's Mission Circle and the Red Hats.

Net is survived by her children, Lois (Jim) Hopkin, of Tucson, Ariz., Rita (Jim) Kirzeder, of Crosby, Monica (Steve) Eide, of Brainerd, Leo (Barb) Geraets, of Marshall, Robert (Bev) Geraets, of Browerville, Nancy (Neil) Miller, of Randall, Jane (David) Stavish, of Cushing, Mark (Lynn) Geraets, of Browerville, Mary (Jerry) Zigan, of Laporte, Peg Singleton, of Gainesville, Fla., Susan (Todd) Dahl, of Brainerd, Roger (Tracy) Geraets, of Brainerd, Teresa Geraets, of Coon Rapids, Mike (Marcia) Geraets, of Monticello; siblings, RoseAnn King, of Florida, Fern Nemmers, of South Dakota, Grace (Ray) Entringer, of South Dakota, Darlene (Roger) Nelson, of South Dakota, Erma Berg, of South Dakota, Bette (Bob) Kathole, of Nebraska, Tom (Roberta) Hansen, of South Dakota, Terry (Alice) Hansen, South Dakota, Karli (Jim) Boelter, of South Dakota, David (Diane) Hansen, of South Dakota, Duane (Barbaralee), of South Dakota; 37 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Net is preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, David; and brothers, Magnus, Harold, Lawrence and Odilio.

Memorials preferred to Alzheimer's Association of America.
