Forrest L. Stephan
Forrest L. Stephan, 77, Brainerd, passed away at his home on Sunday, Nov. 8, 2009. He was born on March 2, 1932, in Lake City, Mich., to Amel and Frances (Hall) Stephan. He married Ardyce Maust on May 16, 1970, in Duluth. Forrest was a contracting specialist with the U.S. Forestry Service. He loved hunting, fishing and telling stories. He was a good father and grandpa.
He is survived by his wife, Ardyce, Brainerd; his sons, Phillip, Brainerd, Nevan Nelson, North Pole, Alaska, Mike Nelson, Merrifield; six grandchildren, Tyler, Ethan and Sierra Stephan, Erika, Rick and Toni Nelson; and two great-grandchildren, Cole and Evan.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Ronald, Lamar, Larry; and two sons, Allen and Mark.
Private family services will be held. Friends may call on Friday, Nov. 13, 2009, from 5-7 p.m. at the Halvorson-Johnson Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Brainerd. Military honors will be provided by the American Legion Post No. 255 of Brainerd.
