WADENA - Motorists were able to resume traffic on Highway 71 through the city of Wadena when it opened to traffic Friday, the Minnesota Department of Transportation reported.
Motorists may continue to encounter periodic lane/shoulder closures as crews complete work on sidewalks, curbs and landscaping, MnDOT reported. In the spring, work operations will resume as crews pave a final layer of blacktop and paint permanent road striping.
Larson Excavation Contractors Inc., of Holdingford, is the prime contractor for the $1.4 pavement resurfacing project. Traffic had been detoured since work began in late August.
