Lyle C. Aarsvold
CROSBY - Lyle Curtis Aarsvold, age 72, of Crosby, died on Nov. 15, 2009, at his home. He was born on Sept. 11, 1937, in Grand Marais, Minn., to Adolph and Mabel (Markegaard) Aarsvold. He married Nancy Lee Sparks on June 28, 1959, in Kasson, Minn. Lyle and his wife were former owners and operators of Pikes Point Resort near Garrison. He was employed for 24 years as a greenskeeper at the Mille Lacs Golf Resort. He was a charter member of Shepherd of the Lake Lutheran Church in Garrison.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy; two daughters, Kim (Mark) Spicer, of Aitkin, and Kris (Dean) O'Neil, of Aitkin; two grandchildren, Zach (Jessi Foye) Spicer, of Aitkin, and Hannah Spicer, of Aitkin; one brother, Paul (Leanna) Aarsvold; three sisters, Eva Barrone, of Rochester, Alma (Harold) Swenson, of Easton, and Marian Thompson, of Kasson.
He is preceded in death by two brothers, Obed and Jacob Aarsvold; and one sister, Rebecca Skomaroske.
Funeral services will be at noon on Friday, Nov. 20, 2009, at Shepherd of the Lake Lutheran Church in Garrison. Burial will be at the Bennettville Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to the services at the church on Friday. Arrangements are with the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby.
