More than 60 percent of the Twin Cities bankers expect no improvement in the local economy over the next six months and some believe economic conditions will worsen by next spring. This will definitely affect this general area.

Only a few months ago there seemed to be a growing fear that downtown Brainerd was slipping while the city's progress was being continued to out lying shopping centers. But that fear now seems to be disappearing. Vacant buildings in the downtown section now are being occupied by new business firms.
