A 36-year-old Pequot Lakes woman who had been missing since Nov. 7 was found uninjured Saturday night in the Twin Cities metro area, Pequot Lakes Police Chief Jerry Braam said Monday.
Braam said Melissa Headlee, who left on her own, was pulled over by police for a traffic stop because the vehicle she was in almost hit a parked car. Braam said a Twin Cities police officer noticed that Headlee was not acting right, so she was taken to North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale for a medical evaluation.
Braam said the family was notified of Headlee's whereabouts Sunday afternoon, but the family did not notify Pequot Lakes police until late Sunday night.
When Headlee's family notified police about her disappearance, the police put out an "attempt to locate" on the woman. Police were able to track Headlee by cash card usage that showed she had traveled to several cities in Minnesota and North Dakota.
