Federal standards change on safety vests near highways
Beginning Monday, the Federal Highway Administration has new standards that will go into effect requiring all workers, including volunteers, who work within the road right-of-way to wear high visibility, retro-reflective vests. These vests are lime green in color with silver retro-reflective tape.

Coming in the spring of 2009 these vests will be available to be picked up at the Cass County Highway Department's main office at 8045 County Road 12 N.W., Walker.

If you are a group coordinator for Cass County's Adopt-a-Highway program plan on coming in to the office to pick up these vests for your group before your 2009 activity. Call (218) 547-1211 if you have any questions.
