June C. Holmen
DEERWOOD - June "Junie" C. Holmen, age 77, of Deerwood, died on Nov. 20, 2009 at the Cuyuna Regional Care Center in Crosby.
She was born on June 28, 1932 in Vasa, Minn., to Carl and Augusta (Gehrke) Budenski. She married James R. Holmen on July 12, 1974 in Crystal. She was employed for 15 years with the Cuyuna Regional Medical Center as a cook. She was a former member of Bethel Lutheran in Palisade and currently a member of Salem Lutheran in Deerwood.
She is survived by one son, Charles Schlick of Minneapolis; three daughters, Linda (Paul) Capobianco of Atlanta, Ga., Debbie (Brad) Holm of Cedar and Carla (Tim) Chartran of Longville; six sisters, Virginia Oberg of Aitkin, Iva Jones of Minneapolis, Louise (Jack) Leweke of Denver, Colo., Shirley Cox of Las Vegas, Betty (Jack) Beggs of Marion, N.C., and Marlene Eads of Aitkin; eight grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; first husband Calvin Schlick in 1957 and second husband James Holmen in 1994.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2009, at the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby. Friends may call one hour prior to the services on Tuesday. Burial will be on Wednesday at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis.
