Helen J. Berg
DEERWOOD - Helen Jane Berg, age 69, of Deerwood, died on Nov. 21, 2009, at her home.
She was born on Oct. 14, 1940, in Dean Lake Township to Arthur and Louisa (Hofer) McCollum. She graduated from the Aitkin High School Class of 1958. Helen married Clayton O. Berg on Aug. 8, 1959. After Helen and Clayton were married they moved to Lanesboro, moving back to the Crosby area in 1964. They retired in 1990, spending their winters in Yuma, Ariz.
She is survived by three daughters, Debbie Lindahl of Deerwood, Pam (Lonny) Lofgren of Ramsey and Karen (Glen) Brown of Oak Grove; two brothers, Raymond (Sally) McCollum of Grand Rapids, Marvin (Shirley) McCollum of Mccomb, Ill.; three sisters, Rose Pirner of Aitkin, Amy (Jim) Robertson of Ironton, Daisy (Darrell) Berg of Tamarack; sisters-in-law, Vicky McCollum of Wildomar, Calif., and Joan McCollum of Burnsville; six grandchildren and one great grandchild.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Clayton in 2007; son-in-law Joel Lindahl; three brothers, Ralph, Floyd, and Johnny McCollum; infant sister Pearl; and infant brothers, Henry and Lee.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 28, 2009, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Crosby. Burial will be at the Lakewood Cemetery in Crosby. Friends may call on Friday at the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby from 4-7 p.m. and on Saturday one hour prior to the services at the church.
