Michael A. Brandes
ST. MICHAEL - Michael Anthony Brandes, age 70, of St. Michael, formerly of Pequot Lakes, died unexpectedly on Nov. 21, 2009.
He is survived by his wife and love of his life, Judy; children Chuck (Barb), Shelley (Jim) Petters, Terry (Brent) Christenson, Jeff (Tracy Colson), Kate (Jim) West; grandchildren Lauren, Jack, Noah, Danny, Sophia, Joe, Zach, Cassie, Myah, Austin, Sydney, Claire, Mika, Grace, Alayna, Leah, Beth and Jamie; former daughter-in-law Michelle Brandes; siblings Jane Fish, Marlys Brandes, Marvel Howie, Susan Brandberg, Mark (Vickie) Brandes; many nieces and nephews; and special friends Dick and Kathy Theis.
He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Ben Christenson; brothers-in-law Clyde Fish and DuWayne Howie.
He was a graduate of DeLaSalle High School and University of St. Thomas. He retired from the Internal Revenue Service, CID Division after 29 years. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and a well-respected friend to many.
Memorials are preferred to American Heart Association, Hanover Food Shelf or donor's choice.
A memorial mass will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Michael Catholic Church, 11300 Frankfort Parkway, St. Michael, with visitation starting at 9:30 a.m.
Arrangements are with Washburn-McReavy Coon Rapids Chapel.
