Only days remain on Kinship mentor drive
Kinship Partners needs to recruit 30 people to achieve its goal of 100 mentors in 100 days.
As of Thursday, Day 88 of the campaign drive, Kinship had 70 people who are in the process of becoming a mentor. Kinship Partners's goal is to provide positive role models and guidance to youth in area communities.
"Our waiting list of kids wanting a mentor has dropped below 50 for the first time in 10 years," said David Downing, Kinship Partners executive director. "Today the waiting list is only 35. So we need to reach the 100 mentor goal to wipe out the current waiting list."
Downing urged people who have picked up an application but not sent it in to complete it so they can be added to the count. Mentors who sign up now can start mentoring after the first of the year.
If you would like additional information on the drive, call 829-4606 or e-mail mail@kinshippartners.org.
