Max H. Thames
CROSSLAKE - Max H. Thames, 82, of Crosslake, died Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2008, at his home. Services for Max will be 1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 22, 2008, at the Brenny Funeral Chapel in Crosslake with Gene Johnson officiating. Friends are welcome to gather Sunday afternoon from 3-5 p.m. at the Brenny Funeral Chapel in Crosslake. Interment will follow services on Monday at the Pinewood Cemetery in Crosslake.

Max was born March 20, 1926, in Macon, Ga., the son of Thomas J. and Myrtle (Mills) Thames. He was united in marriage to Goldie Irene Turner on July 3, 1947, in Macon, Ga. Max served his country in the U.S. Army and Army Air Corps. He was a minister for the Seventh-day Adventist Church for 40 years. Max enjoyed many things: oil painting, reading, boating, waterskiing, singing and preaching. He was also a Junior Camp Director.

Max will be missed by his wife, Goldie; his children, Linda (James) Trana, of Crosslake, Barbara (George) St. Pierre, of Springfield, Mass., Rodney (Natalie) Thames, of Douglasville, Ga., and Marsha (Delvin) Delong, of Mount Dora, Fla.; his brother, Clarence (Ramona) Thames, of Georgia; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; nephew, Dr. Scott Turner; and many other nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Jeanette; and brother, Thomas.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel of Crosslake.
