Funds going to Cass
for food, shelter
Cass County will receive $19,606 to supplement emergency food and shelter programs in the county.
Cass was chosen to receive the funds by a national board chaired by the Federal Emergency Management Agency, made up of representatives from the Salvation Army, American Red Cross, Catholic Charities USA and National Council of Churches of Christ in the United States. The board distributed funds appropriated by Congress to help expand the capacity of food and shelter programs in high-need areas around the country.
A board made up of local representatives will determine how the funds awarded to Cass County will be distributed among the emergency food and shelter programs.
Public or private voluntary organizations interested in applying for Emergency Food and Shelter Program funds must contact Anne McGill at Bi-County CAP at (218) 751-4631 or (800) 332-7161 before Jan. 6.
