Jon Echternacht, son of Dr. and Mrs. Jack Echternacht of Brainerd, was appointed managing editor of the Albert Lea Tribune. He joins the Tribune staff after 10 years as managing editor of Ray Nitschke's Packer Report in Green Bay.

Message from our mayor, Tom O'Brien: Much progress has been made this past year. My sincere thanks to each and every citizen, our employees and officials for their fine co-operation. No wonder everyone loves Brainerd.
