Breezy Point Mayor Tom Lillehei said there are around 1,200 tax-forfeited lots in Crow Wing County, and Breezy Point has 462 of those. In comparison with area communities, Ideal Township and Nisswa each has two tax-forfeited properties, Pelican Township has three, Pequot Lakes has one, and Crosslake does not have any. House fires force residents out for holidays

A kitty narrowly escaped a fire Friday in Breezy Point, rescued by quick-thinking paramedics. Firefighters responded just before 3 p.m. to a house fire at 31700 Robinhood Lane, northwest of the city, according to Sgt. Brian Sandell of the Breezy Point Police Department.

A Pequot Lakes police officer attempted to make a traffic stop on an orange 1976 Chevy Corvette south on Highway 371 for having a headlight out and crossing the fog line. After the officer activated his emergency lights, the suspect fled at a high rate of speed, the Pequot Lakes Police Chief Eric Klang stated in a news release.

A Chevrolet Suburban came to rest on its top after sliding off Crow Wing County Road 11 east of County Road 3 Tuesday afternoon southeast of Crosslake.
