The city of Duluth recommends that people stay off the Lakewalk Trail in Canal Park because of icy conditions. Strong winds have caused the boardwalk, paved sections, benches and large boulders to be covered with thick layers of ice or slush, along with gravel and other debris. Accumulating snowfall is possible across parts of the Northland on Sunday into Monday. Snow will spread in from southwest to northeast on Sunday. The heaviest snowfall is expected Sunday afternoon and evening before gradually tapering off early on Monday. Generally, 1 to 3 inches of accumulation is possible from the Brainerd Lakes to the Hinckley area with the highest totals in the Brainerd Lakes region.  National Weather Service Duluth

On Thursday, April 12, sheriff's departments and other agencies from across the state will  participate in the statewide tornado drill with sirens being activated at 1:45 p.m. and 6:45 p.m. Outdoor warning sirens and NOAA Weather Radios will sound in a simulated tornado warning. The tornado drills allow everyone in the community to practice their emergency plans for tornadoes.
