Brainerd junior high students to stage 'We the People'   The Franklin Junior High and Mississippi Horizons schools will present "We the People" at 1:30 p.m. Saturday and 8 p.m. April 22 in the Franklin auditorium.

Pianists, vocalists in spotlight at CLC   Central Lakes College students will present the Piano and Voice Festival at 7 p.m. Thursday in the Chalberg Theatre on the Brainerd campus. Admission is free.

Kenny Rogers to play at Mille Lacs casino in June   ONAMIA -- Kenny Rogers, whose 12 No. 1 albums and 20 No. 1 songs have cemented his legendary status over the past four decades, will perform at 6 and 9 p.m. June 3 at the Grand Casino Mille Lacs Events & Convention Center.

Legacy Chorale of Greater Minnesota to give weekend shows   The Legacy Chorale of Greater Minnesota, under the direction of Sarah Aamot-Lundin, will perform three concerts this weekend.

Tempo briefs   A few 35 mm point and shoot cameras are needed for the Picturing IV children's workshop at 9 a.m. Saturday at Central Lakes College.

Butch Thompson's Big Three to perform Tuesday in Brainerd   Butch Thompson's Big Three will perform at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Tornstrom Auditorium, Washington Middle School, in Brainerd as part of the Lakes Area Concert Association series.

CLC to present its version of 'The Emperor's New Clothes' for children   Central Lakes College Children's Theatre students will present "The Emperor's New Clothes (or What Not to Wear)" for the public at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. April 24 at Central Lakes College's Dryden Theatre.

Student artworks on display at CLC Gallery   Jonathon Welu's red earthenware sculpture "Deep Unconsciousness" is among the artwork on display at the Central Lakes College Juried Student Art Show through April 30 in the CLC Gallery. Welu is a sophomore from Nisswa working toward his associate in arts degree.

Photo workshops to be presented at CLC   "Picturing IV: On a Ray of Light" workshops will run 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday at Central Lakes College in Brainerd. Admission is $5 for the public and free for students.

Music General Performing Line dancers earn awards at contest   The Music General Performing Line dancers competed at the 37th annual Minnesota Dance Contest on March 27 and 28 in Wayzata.
