After graduating high school in 2004, I attended Central Lakes College in Staples, MN for 2 years where I got a diploma in Communication Art and Design. I then transfered up to Bemidji State University in, you guessed it, Bemidji, MN. In the spring of 2009, I graduated from BSU. Then in the fall of 2009 I got a job at Echo Publishing, a sister company to the Brainerd Dispatch.

A 55-year-old Motley man was charged Monday with domestic assault by strangulation in Morrison County District Court. The charge against Steven M. Johnson has a maximum penalty of three years of imprisonment and/or a $5,000 fine. According to the criminal complaint, the Morrison County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a domestic assault and a gunshot wound Friday in Motley. The victim, a family member of Johnson’s, said Johnson was in the garage and drinking heavily.
