I've worked at the Brainerd Dispatch with various duties since Dec. 7, 1983. Starting off as an Ad Designer and currently Director of Audience Development. The Dispatch has been an interesting and challenging place to work. I'm fortunate to have made many friends, both co-workers and customers.

PRINCETON - Karol Pruett, 50, of Princeton, Minn., died Nov. 22, 2010. She passed away peacefully in her home after a long battle with cancer. Karol was born Dec. 10, 1959, in Hudson, S.D., to Dwayne and Evelyn Pederson. She attended Canton High School in Canton, S.D. She continued her education at North Central Bible College in Minneapolis. There she graduated and met the love of her life, Chuck Pruett. They were joined in marriage on April 18, 1981.
Memorial services for Mabel "Midge" Edna (Madland) Nelson, 88, of Brainerd, Minn., will be at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 23 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1420 South Sixth Street, Brainerd, Minn. Visitation will be from noon to 1:30 p.m. at the church and lunch will be served following the memorial service.
Rebecca (Pearson) Crose, age 65, passed away Friday, Nov. 19, 2010, at Edgewood Vista in Brainerd, Minn. Becky was born in Roseau, Minn., to Roy and Lulu Pearson. She attended school at Malung Country School and graduated from high school in Crookston, Minn. She attended nursing school and worked as a licensed practical nurse for 38 years. Becky married Dan Crose and the couple lived in Hoopeston, Ill. She enjoyed gardening, fishing, snowmobiling, baking and dancing.
CROSSLAKE - Eleanor J. Wareing, age 92, of Crosslake, passed away suddenly at her home on Saturday, Nov. 20, 2010. Arrangements are pending with the Brenny Funeral Chapel of Crosslake.
ALBANY - Joseph M. Marushin, of Albany, passed away Saturday, Nov. 20, 2010, at Mother of Mercy Nursing Home. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapels.
AITKIN - Wayne D. Thompson, 48, of Aitkin, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 18, 2010, at his home surrounded by family. A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 22, 2010, at Sorensen-Root-Thompson Funeral Home in Aitkin with Pastor Dallas Smith officiating.
FORT RIPLEY - Louis Wimer, age 77, of Fort Ripley, Minn., died away Thursday, Nov. 18, 2010. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, Nov. 22, at 11 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, Belle Prairie. Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Sunday at Emblom-Brenny Funeral Service, Little Falls, and Monday from 10-11 a.m. at Holy Family Church. Arrangements Emblom-Brenny Funeral Service, Little Falls.
NISSWA - Louis "Lou" A. Larson, age 75, Nisswa, Minn., died Friday, Nov. 19, 2010, at the St. Cloud Hospital. Private family services will be held. Lou was born Nov. 16, 1935, in Minneapolis, Minn., to Louis R. and Hilda (Lange) Larson. He married Patricia "Pat" A. Schwarz on Aug. 23, 1958, in Minneapolis, Minn. Lou was employed as a mechanical engineer for Despatch Industries. Survivors include his wife, Patty Larson of Nisswa, Minn.; daughters Deb Larson of Plymouth, Minn., and Lynn Larson of Brooklyn Park, Minn. He was preceded in death by his parents.

LITTLE FALLS - Theresia Catherine (Tschida) Selinger, age 81, of St. Otto's Care Center, formerly of Swan River Township, Minn., passed away on Saturday, Nov. 20, 2010, surrounded by her family.
