Hey there, Tech Savvy fans! I was fortunate enough to have a topic for this week pop up in a conversation I had with my wife the other night. She was working on a project and had received some information from another person. She needed to print the attachment that came in an email so she could fill out the information and send it back. The problem was the attachment was in a format she didn't recognize and she wasn't able to open it on her iPad or Android phone. She asked me to take a look at it and I was able to identify the issue almost immediately.
Hey there, Tech Savvy fans! I am really excited to share with you a bit of tech that I was able to experience first hand in a real world situation a week ago at The Big Event fundraiser for the Brainerd Public School Foundation. It was my first time attending the BPSF Big Event. I was out of town last year and if you have not gone, make sure you put it on your calendar for next year. It was a ton of fun, great food, and a great cause.
Hey there, Tech Savvy fans! I was asked this in passing the other day, and I get a number of comments on this subject, so I thought it would nice to touch on this often confusing item: What devices will work with my accessories and vice versa? Many of the accessories and devices you see are made by well known companies and are pitched for their devices - Apple, Samsung, Motorola are some that instantly come to mind. They offer a wide range of accessories: headphones, cases, speakers, etc., that are branded for their smartphones and tablets.
Hey there, Tech Savvy fans! I'm excited this week to bring you, I think, the farthest shipped product I've had the privilege to review thus far. If you don't count manufacturing destinations, like devices made in other countries, we've looked at products from across the United States - from Florida to California we've spanned America.
Hey there, Tech Savvy fans! I hope you're enjoying this weather - I know I sure am (not)! But I suppose that is the price we pay for living in Minnesota. On the other hand, we'll have some nice thick ice for fishing. I am always excited to see the shortest day of the year pass, unfortunately the days still seem long. I mean really long.
Hey there, Tech Savvy fans! I hope you all had a safe and fun New Year's celebration, I always get a kick out of seeing updated pictures of my friends and family making new year resolutions and we have kind of made that a tradition here with Tech Savvy as well. This year, instead of trying to predict the things that are going to be big this year, I thought it'd be fun to propose some tech resolutions that everyone should give a try in the coming year.
Hey there, Tech Savvy fans! I hope you all had a merry and blessed Christmas, and got to spend time with your family and friends. I got to thinking, as I was sitting there watching everyone unwrap new gadgets and toys, that there is always an influx of "stuff" that folks sell after the holiday season and it can potentially be a great time to score a good deal on some gently used gadgets.
Hey there, Tech Savvy fans! This week I have one last treat before Christmas arrives, and it may be just the thing you need to gather everyone for some carols or some firelight music while you watch your stockings hung on the mantle with care. It's the K-Board Smart Keyboard by Keith McMillen Instruments. If you know me, you know that I really enjoy music and have dabbled in playing some instruments over the years. One that I've never really gotten into, and have always wanted to, was the piano.
Hey there, Tech Savvy fans! As the year is coming to a close I thought it might be fun to take a look back and see what predictions came true that I had made and share some fun facts with you. Here are my predictions and my take on if they came through. Decline of PCs: Man, if it's happening, I'm not really seeing it a whole lot, at least in a practical sense. I do see less marketing and pushes for computers and such than what we had seen in the past, but the fact of the matter is, there is still a core group of people that rely on desktop computers on a daily basis. Is that changing? Yes.
Hey there, Tech Savvy fans! I'm excited this week to share with you a solution I've found for an issue I've been dealing with for some time now. As we all know, it's unsafe (not to mention illegal in many cases) to use our phones while driving.
