Hey there, Tech Savvy fans! This week I want to chat a little bit about something that has become a bit of a buzzword affecting both businesses and consumers, what you can expect from it, and what it means for business/consumer relationships - content marketing. I know, it sounds really fancy - definitely industry trend speak and more likely than not you've heard this term before. It's also very similar to some other terms that you probably are more familiar with - advertorial, infomercial, sponsored ads or even paid endorsement.
Hey there, Tech Savvy fans! This week, as promised, I bring you a look at another great smartphone courtesy of our friends at Verizon Wireless, the HTC One M9. For the past two years the HTC One has been the dominant driver for HTC, immediately following the HTC DNA, which is my current phone.
Hey there, Tech Savvy fans! This week I wanted to share my thoughts on a growing trend I've noticed that has become fairly prevalent on social media and the web in general. I affectionately refer to them as the "armchair attorneys." But first, an update. Don't buy a Coin, www.onlycoin.com . If you remember a couple weeks back I had expressed some dissatisfaction on my order, and I finally got word back from their customer support services and was informed that my Coin was now scheduled for a September delivery. I pre-ordered mine in February of 2014.
Hey there, Tech Savvy fans! This week I wanted to share some thoughts on a brief column I read in an industry magazine that I got in the mail. I get a fair number of publications sent to me regarding marketing trends, tech use and other ways that these two worlds continue to collide in an ever growing digital world. The topics they cover run the gamut from best practices for email marketing, to CRM use, to website development. For the most part, the information is pretty useful and can be very informative if you're looking to learn something new.
Hey there, Tech Savvy fans! This week I wanted to share some thoughts with you on a topic that I've been dealing with lately, the battle to determine which is more effective - the mainstream solution or something new and unique. The concept can really be broken into two main categories for our conversation, software and hardware, and we'll take a brief look at both. A little history. I have been asked recently about the pros and cons of switching from the current software systems to a new system that would serve the same purpose.
Hey there, Tech Savvy fans! This week I wanted to share some insight I have, personally, with one of the downsides we see in some of the tech ventures that we can potentially see. I have mentioned crowd-funding numerous times in this column, as well as the ability this gives the company that is looking for funding the ability to reach out to the masses directly and fund dreams.
Hey there, Tech Savvy fans! This week I wanted to share a little rant with you about how it seems that some aspects of tech has gotten stuck in a rut. Don't get me wrong, there have been tons of new items, and innovation continues to take strides forward, but I sometimes worry that mainstream America is starting to influence what used to be a mind-blowing ecosystem of technological advancement. See if this sounds familiar. Company A creates a mind-blowing, earth-shattering product that takes the world by storm. It's such a success that it changes the way that the world functions.
Hey there Tech Savvy fans! This week I get to share with you a device that I've had for a little while now and it's insanely awesome because it combines two of my favorite pastimes: tech and camping. I love camping. When I was growing up my family camped for a good portion of the summer, and I mean real camping - in tents through wind and rain and all the elements, we were right there. Eventually we upgraded to a recreational vehicle for longer road trips but tent camping always has, and always will be, very special to me.
Hey there, Tech Savvy fans! This week we get to take a look at a fun little device courtesy of our friends at Verizon Wireless. I'm always excited when I get a box from Verizon because they always have some really fun things to test out - some of my favorite gear and devices have come from the goody boxes that Verizon has sent and this one was another winner - the RE camera by HTC. Over the past couple of years HTC has reinvested in itself and has worked hard to bring their devices and gear to the forefront of the smart device world.
Hey there, Tech Savvy fans! As promised this week we get to take an exclusive sneak peek at a product that is sure to change your life. I sound pretty confident about that don't I? Let me show you why. A few months back I wrote about my disagreement with a blog that said restaurants should consider providing iPads to patrons with young children to keep them occupied and reduce the "distraction" at the restaurant. I tore it down.
