Cardinals cruise to victory

LITTLE FALLS - Caitlin Robinson led all scorers with 13 points and Nikki Pearson added 10 as the Staples-Motley Cardinals dominated the Little Falls Flyers 55-28 Saturday.

The Cardinals held Little Falls to 10-of-44 (23 percent) shooting and forced 26 Flyers turnovers.

Paige Beseman and Whitney Weisz each scored seven points for the Flyers.

CROSBY - Jana Anderson finished with 23 points and six rebounds to power the Crosby-Ironton Rangers to a 65-43 non-conference win over the Walker-Hackensack-Akeley Wolves Saturday.

Katie Swanhorst drained six 3-pointers to finish with 18 points. She added four assists, two steals and two rebounds.

C-I hit on 17-of-21 (81 percent) free throws and got 16 points off the bench.

PINE RIVER - Katie Wangberg tagged on 20 points to her career point total that surpassed 1,000 on Friday to help the Pine River-Backus Tigers claim a 66-24 Northwoods Conference victory Saturday over Kelliher-Northome.

Wangberg dropped 35 points on Clearbrook-Convick Friday to become the fourth PR-B girl to reach 1,000 career points.

On Saturday, she added 11 steals to help PR-B remain perfect (9-0) in the conference.

PR-B's Autumn Ackerman added 16 rebounds and 14 points and Tatum Sheley scored 14.
