Horticulture building gets makeover for county fair
CROW WING COUNTY FAIR
Longtime Crow Wing County Fair-goers may not recognize the horticulture building by the time workers finish their improvements at that site.
Burt Knandel, fair supervisor of the horticulture exhibits, Louis Hoffman and Boy Scout volunteers from Troop 45 are getting the building ready for the fair, which runs July 29 to Aug. 2.
Workers have been busy making improvements to the horticulture building at the Crow Wing County. The work was done with the assistance of Burt Knandel, fair supervisor of horticulture exhibits, Louis Hoffman and Boy Scout volunteers from Troop 45.
The plan is to build and paint display tables to better display the many flowers, fruits and open class entries in the horticulture classes. Last year there were 893 open class entries in the horticulture classes.
