Cass Lake author releases book
CASS LAKE - "In the Absence of Honor," the debut novel by Cass Lake and Illinois author Jim Proebstle, is now available for $21.95.
It is available at Book World in Baxter, Rainy Days Books in Nisswa, national chains and on the Web at www.intheabsenceofhonor.com.
Jim Proebstle is the author of "In the Absence of Honor."
Proebstle and his wife, Carole, live in Cass Lake during the summer. His love of the wilderness and fascination with Native American reservation life fueled his imagination for "In the Absence of Honor."
Proebstle has bachelor's and master's degrees from Michigan State University. His corporate career in sales and management prepared him to form Prodyne, Inc., a management consulting firm.
The book description is: "When Jake Lorenz retreats to his family's cabin in the north Minnesota woods for the winter, he's looking for peace, quiet and time to reflect on the loss of his wife and his job. But instead, he finds destruction and death - a gruesome murder scene on his very doorstep. The more he discovers about the death, the deeper he is drawn into a shadowy struggle for land, wealth and power."
Proebstle will sign books Sept. 6 at Bookin' It in Little Falls as part of the Arts & Crafts Fair.
