'LEEDing' the way Fairway Pines is Minnesota's first golf course community featuring Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design-certified homes
NISSWA - Etoc Development and Grand View Real Estate, both divisions of Cote Family Companies, recently introduced Fairway Pines, Minnesota's first golf course community that features Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design-certified homes designed and built by Nor-Son Inc. of Baxter.
Fairway Pines features 20 home sites located on The Pines Golf Course at Grand View Lodge Resort in Nisswa. Three cottage designs are available, ranging in size from 1,344 to 3,400 square feet.
In an e-mail news release, Christy Clay, director of development and real estate for Cote Family Companies, said "In designing Fairway Pines, quality craftsmanship of the homes, while maintaining the integrity of the natural surroundings, was extremely important to us. Working with Nor-Son, we developed these characteristics into a unique, environmentally friendly community with elements of timeless quality. With the LEED for Homes Certification, we proudly continue our legacy of sustainable development as exemplified by our award-winning Fawn Ridge neighborhood."
Each home at Fairway Pines will be certified according to the LEED for Homes rating system, which assures that homes are designed and built to be energy- and resource-efficient and healthy for occupants. LEED-certified homes have the potential to save residents money on energy and water bills, reduce their carbon footprints and environmental impact and protect their health, the news release said.
Also in a release, Scott Kuehl of Nor-Son said, "Our partnership with Cote Family Companies spans a number of years and covers a wide variety of high-quality projects. This development follows that same standard of quality and reinforces their commitment to eco-friendly development."
