The 19th-ranked Central Lakes College Raiders football team opens its season at 11 a.m. Friday in the Minnesota College Athletic Conference Kickoff Classic against Fond Du Lac at St. Cloud State University.
Four additional games are scheduled this weekend. Mesabi Range plays Fergus Falls at 3 p.m. Friday.
Saturday's games include Itasca and Ridgewater at 11 a.m., Northland and Rochester at 3 p.m. and Vermilion and Minnesota West at 7 p.m.
Pierz's Kimman to make college debut
ST. CLOUD - Katie Kimman, a 2008 Pierz High School graduate, will begin her career as a member of the St. Cloud State University volleyball team when the Huskies open Friday at Rolla, Mo. in the Missouri University S&T tournament.
Kimman was a volleyball and basketball standout at Pierz, being named all-state for volleyball and receiving honorable mention all-state for basketball her senior year.
