Rangers sweep doubles from New York Mills

AREA GIRLS' TENNIS

CROSBY -The Crosby-Ironton Rangers won all three doubles matches and went on to a 5-2 victory over New York Mills in non-conference play Tuesday.

C-I's victorious doubles team were Kayla Minarich-Heather Robinson at No. 1, Ashley Barutt-Jessica Lundstrom at No. 2 and Vanessa Hudrlik-Mariah Craig at No. 3.

Hanna Christenson and Kayla Sorben won singles matches for the Rangers.

No. 1: Stephanie Hendricks (NYM) def. Kaitlyn Risnes, 6-1, 5-7, 5-7

No. 2: Hanna Christenson (C-I) def. Savannah Thompson, 6-2, 6-1.

No. 3: Kayla Sorben (NYM) def. Alli Slieter, 6-4, 6-3.

No. 4; Missy Hendricks (C-I) def. Savanah Fore, 6-1, 6-3.

Doubles

No. 1: Kayla Minarich-Heather Robinson (C-I) def. Christine Becher-Kendal Perela, 6-3, 6-2.

No. 2: Ashley Barutt-Jessica Lundstrom (C-I) def. Chelsea Hendricks-Trisha Loertell 6-2, 3-6, 7-5.

No. 3: Vanessa Hudrlik-Mariah Craig (C-I) def. Lauren Beck-Kinsey Perela 6-4, 6-1.

Overall: C-I 3-9. Next: C-I at Pequot Lakes 4:30 p.m. Thursday.
