Dehen chosen as one of 100 Most Influential Health Care Leaders in state
Brainerd Lakes Health, the health care system which includes St. Joseph's Medical Center and Brainerd Medical Center, announced Dr. James Dehen, surgeon, was recently selected as one of Minnesota's 100 Most Influential Health Care Leaders by Minnesota Physician magazine.
According to Minnesota Physician Publishing, every four years, the readers of Minnesota Physician magazine nominate their colleagues whose outstanding work in health care is providing inspiration and leadership across the spectrum of clinical care and health care policy, research and management.
Dehen is a staff surgeon at Brainerd Medical Center and St. Joseph's Medical Center and is currently the President of the Minnesota Medical Association. Dehen is highly active through the Minnesota Medical Association to advance health care reform.

"The legislature moved toward health care reform this year by passing legislation to form a Health Care Reform Review Council, increase funding for preventative care, and endorse the medical home concept for disease management," Dehen said in a news release.
"We have a lot of work to do, but it is nice to see progress and an honor to be recognized in this list of dedicated people."
