Poll confirms economic fears
ST. PAUL (AP) - A new poll confirms the depth of anxiety in Minnesota about the economy.
The poll by Minnesota Public Radio News and the University of Minnesota's Humphrey Institute shows nearly one-fourth of respondents are scared by what's going on in the markets.
Two-thirds of those surveyed believe the economy and jobs are the nation's top issues. That's way up from 41 percent two months ago.
The poll shows Barack Obama getting a slight boost from the economic anxiety. He had an eight-point edge when people were asked whether Obama or John McCain was better suited to handle the crisis.
