Accidents Two hurt in head-on collision
Both drivers suffered minor injuries after their vehicles collided head on about 5 p.m. Tuesday on Riverside Drive in Brainerd, the Crow Wing County Sheriff's Department reported.
Sheriff's Sgt. Andy Bradley said the crash happened after one driver apparently lost control on the wet roadway, crossed the centerline and struck the other vehicle.
Both drivers, Ashley Borchardt, 19, Brainerd, and Gaynard Brown, 58, Breezy Point, suffered minor injuries and were treated at St. Joseph's Medical Center in Brainerd and released.
The Brainerd Fire Department assisted with a fire in one of the vehicles.
Boy struck by truck identified
The Brainerd boy who was struck by a vehicle Monday as he and a friend were on bicycles crossing Jackson Street near the Brainerd Area Civic Center was identified by Brainerd police Tuesday.
The boy, who turned 12 Wednesday, was Dajion Davonte Jeske-Hall. Jeske-Hall was treated for his injuries and released from St. Joseph's Medical Center in Brainerd.
The driver of the truck that struck Jeske-Hall was identified as Curtis Wayne Johnson, 59, Brainerd. Johnson was not injured in the crash.
According to police, Jeske-Hall and a friend were attempting to cross Jackson Street on their bikes when Jeske-Hall was struck by Johnson's vehicle after it turned off from Northwest Fourth Street onto Jackson Street.
