Melva Mathison
Melva Mathison, 87, of Brainerd, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2009, at Woodland Good Samaritan Village in Brainerd, Minn.
Melva Gertrude was born on Oct. 16, 1922, to Obert and Fern (Lockwood) Christopherson in Crow Wing County. She married Clifford Mathison on April 8, 1944.
She was a former member of First Lutheran Church in Brainerd and enjoyed gardening and yard work. Melva's family, especially her grandchildren, was very important to her.
Melva is survived by her son, Duane Mathison, Brainerd; daughters, Kathy (Earl) Rudquist, Merrifield, Marilyn (Robert) Breitling, Brainerd, Kristi Mathison, Brainerd; daughter-in-law, Linda Mathison, Brainerd. She is also survived by six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband and four brothers.
Services will be held Thursday, Nov. 5, 2009, at 11 a.m. at Halvorson-Johnson Funeral Chapel. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Dykeman Cemetery.
Arrangements are with the Halvorson-Johnson Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Brainerd.
