Esther A. O'Connor
Esther Alice O'Connor, age 78, resident of Brainerd, died Thursday, Nov. 5, 2009, at Good Samaritan Society-Bethany in Brainerd. Esther was born Feb. 1, 1931, in Wakefield, Mich., to August and Toini (Alakarra) Koski.
Esther was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church in Brainerd. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting and making dolls. She was gifted at interior designing.
Survivors include five daughters, Barb (Greg) Johnson, of Litchfield, Bonnie O'Connor, of Walker, Erin (John) Buscher, of Brainerd, Jackie (Dave) Hughes, of Duluth, Brenda O'Connor, of Brainerd; five sons, Tim (Rose) O'Connor, of Bismarck, N.D., Brian (Meledy) O'Connor, of Crosby, Jeff (Jodi) O'Connor, of Crosby, Rick O'Connor, of Brainerd, Pete O'Connor, of Crosby; 22-grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two brothers, Stan (Jean) Koski, of Duluth, Ron (Joni) Koski, of St. Paul; two sisters, Elsie (Floyd) Nelson, of Woodbury, Elaine Smith, of St. Paul.
Her parents; husband, Jack; and brother, Earl Koski, died earlier.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2009, at St. Francis Catholic Church in Brainerd. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Monday with parish prayers 7 p.m. Monday at Nelson-Doran Funeral Home in Brainerd and at the church Tuesday the hour before services.
Memorials are preferred to the Kidney Foundation.
Arrangements are with the Nelson-Doran Funeral Home, Brainerd.
