Brainerd defeated Sartell 3-2 last Saturday at Granite Bowl in St. Cloud to clinch first place in the Central Minnesota Conference.
Captain Will Bassett and Kevin Lechner led Brainerd with 94.1- and 90-percent fills. Bassett had 14 of 17 possible strikes.
In the position round against St. Cloud Tech, Lechner, Bassett, and Derek Maier led Brainerd with 90-, 85.7- and 80-percent fills. Bassett had 10 of 14 possible strikes.
Conference champion Brainerd was followed in the standings by Tech, Sauk Rapids, Sartell, Rocori, St. Cloud Apollo, St. Cloud Cathedral and Milaca.
Brainerd had the high team average of 183, the high team match of 1,034 and the second-highest team game of 267 for the season.
Bassett and Maier were first and eighth in the conference, respectively, with 87.44- and 77.5-percent fills for the season.
Brainerd junior varsity teams, Blue and Silver, placed first and second in the Central Minnesota JV Conference.
The Warriors travel to Granite Bowl South Nov. 14 to compete in the CMC tournament. At stake is a state tournament berth at Echo Lanes in Austin for the varsity and a state tournament berth at Southtown Lanes in Bloomington for the JV.
