LITTLE FALLS — Jackson Grant and Courtney Loeffler turned in the fastest times for the Little Falls Flyers who ran past the Pierz Pioneers boys and girls in the season opener for both teams Thursday, Aug. 27.

Grant clocked a 19:36 to lead the boys and Loeffler finished in 22:40 to pace the girls.

Wyatt Baum, Connor Grant and Clive Ingemansen finished in the top five for the Flyer boys. Abby Borash and Grace Leclair joined Loeffler in the top five girls.

Top finishers for Pierz were Ethan Kowalzcyk, fourth with a 20:07, and Katie Leidenfrost, second with a 23:02.

MENAHGA — Wadena-Deer Creek’s Kira Sweeney led the field with a 20:31.14 and paced the Wolverines to a first-place finish at the UNC Triangular Thursday, Aug. 27.

Bjorn Brunsberg and Lane Hoefs finished third and fourth for the WDC boys who didn’t field a complete team.
