We invite you to join us in Nisswa, Minnesota, the heart of the Brainerd Lakes Area. Whether you are visiting for a day, a weekend, a week or longer, you are sure to find something to love about Nisswa.
Nisswa is known as the event hub of the Brainerd Lakes Area. With events going on throughout the year Nisswa’s doors are always open, no matter what the season. In the winter, Nisswa hosts one of the largest charitable ice fishing contests in the world. When spring arrives, so does the Run for the Lakes, which is a Boston Marathon qualifying race. Summer is the peak visitor season with plenty of fun things to do throughout the area. The fall colors are amazing and the fabulous events keep on going – the Nisswa Fall Festival and Smokin’ Hot BBQ Challenge being a good example. It is held the 3rd Saturday of September every year. Check out the full listing of events and activities in the Calendar of Events section on pages 10 through 21 and mark your calendar so you don’t miss a single exciting Nisswa event.
