Dodson to Lead KBM GeoSpatial's Aerial Services Team
Grand Forks, N.D. - Scott Dodson, CP, has joined KBM GeoSpatial as the aerial services manager. Dodson brings more than 35 years of experience in all disciplines of topographic and digital imagery collection, including aerial camera manufacturing, calibration, and drone prototype design for proof of concept. He has extensive DOT experience with Caltrans, FDOT, AlDOT, GDOT, and TxDOT.
Dodson will lead the aerial services team, responsible for estimating, project management, scheduling, staff training, final QA/QC reviews, and new technology research and recommendations.
As an early LiDAR user, Dodson helped establish procedures to incorporate LiDAR with stereo mapping, leveraging the unique strengths of both technologies. He has won multiple awards for innovative technology solutions, including the ISPRS innovative product for hardware and the gold medal for innovative technical project for a combined terrestrial LiDAR, aerial photogrammetry, and ground truth survey project.
